A new day commences at the residence of count and countess Almaviva. There is whispering and flirting in every room. The servants Figaro and Susanne are preparing for the most beautiful day of their lives: their wedding day.
The entire house brews, tingles and vibrates with love. However, it will not be easy: the count has his eye on Susanne. He is determined to have her. He appeals to an old gentleman’s right to spend the first wedding night with her. But Figaro has staying power. The countess as well: she wants to play a joke on him. Together with Susanne and adolescent servant Cherubino, they hatch a wild plan to set back the Count. The result is a crazy, mad day, filled with misunderstandings, dress up parties, plots, affaires, confessions, cheerfulness, sadness and love, love and more…
Mozart and De Ponte created an opera full of lust for life, about small people with great desires, trapped in the timeless game called love.
